Which mushrooms you'll encounter will be a delightful surprise when you visit. However, the majority of wild mushrooms are poisonous and extremely dangerous. All the mushrooms shown in the photos have been carefully selected and examined by a master mushroom forager. She is 84 years old this year and is a veteran who has been foraging for mushrooms every year since she was a young girl. She is a wonderful person who is slightly sun-tanned, always smiling cheerfully, and both spirited and charming. She wears tabi boots and carries a bear bell, venturing deep into the mountains where mushrooms grow before dawn. She makes her way down the mountain, gathering mushrooms as she goes, then drives her own 軽トラ (kei-tora = Japanese mini truck) to deliver them to our restaurant. Therefore, you can enjoy our mushrooms with complete peace of mind. Therefore, you can enjoy our mushrooms with complete peace of mind.
(The bears on mainland Japan are Asian black bears, which are relatively timid and will flee when they sense human presence from a distance. However, bears can sometimes attack, so one must be careful.)
You must never forage and eat mushrooms on your own. Some mushrooms contain toxins that can be fatal, and it is not easy to determine whether they are poisonous or not.
